Day 22 – Saturday, August 12 – North Cape!

Left Hotel at 4:00 am. Beautiful sunrise. Nice day most of the morning. Amazing terrain and scenery along water, fjords. Lots of pictures. Further north rain and colder and fog. NordTunnel 4.3 miles long. Put on warm cloths packed into my top bag for going into tunnel. Tunnel 805 ft below sea level at lowest point. Temps in the 30’s. 12 percent grade climbing out.
From Honningsvag to Nordkapp lots of climbing and weather turned worse. Got to Nordkapp about 4:30. Crowd applauded when I rode in. I was very cold, wet, drained but had made it. Visitor center had food, clothing and shelter.
Great dinner with soup and salmon. Stayed in visitor center until 9 when rain stopped and setup tent at visitor center parking lot.
I completed the North Cape 4000 in 21 days, 16 hours and 35 minutes.
Riding over 4000 Kilometers and climbing 110,000+ feet.
